Actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been very busy dodging inquiries about whether he would portray Marvel’s Doctor Strange and finishing the promotion of The Imitation Game and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Marvel has officially announced that he will indeed play Doctor Strange in the movie which is set to be released on November 4th, 2016. The film will be directed by Scott Derrickson and the screenplay provided by Jon Spaihts. According to online sources, the story will follow neurosurgeon, Dr. Stephen Strange who, discovers a magic world and alternate dimensions, after being involved in a terrible car accident. This reportedly “Official” plot synopsis for the film, sticks closely to the comic book origins of the character, to those familiar.
Kevin Feige has been quoted as saying: “Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
