So, if you haven’t seen the week’s episode, DO NOT READ THE REVIEW! I’ve broken it down by show, so you can skip reviews of episodes you haven’t seen yet, or don’t intend on watching. The blog post for the prior week will be posted the day following the episode’s airdate or at least sometime by the end of the week. Top 5 Moments

  • Skye vs Agent 33! We knew that she was still out there and even after the “Ass Whoppin” May handed to her an episode or so back. I have to say that I liked this fight almost as much as that one. Skye has developed as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I’m happy to see it. I’ve always liked her and I think she grounds the team with her youth, enthusiasm and determination.
  • Mockingbird and Mack know something no one else does! I was curious as to exactly what Mack was worried about Lance finding out about? Maybe Bobbi and Mack are working a secret op (angle) that Coulson isn’t aware of? I wonder if it has anything to do with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War or their simply working with HYDRA? I hope it’s one of the former and not the latter.
  • Raina and Skye bond! It wasn’t surprising that these two bonded as they had the doctor (Skye’s father) in common, as well as Kree DNA (this was established by the fact that Raina could hold the Obelisk/Diviner and of course Skye was injected with the GH Serum).
  • Skye is kidnapped…AGAIN! It stands to reason that if anyone kidnapped Skye again, it would be Ward. He got a twofer with her and Raina, but I really don’t think that he means her any harm. I feel that he’s still in love with her and that he’s earnestly attempting to redeem himself in her eyes and keep any promises he made to her.
  • Oh no, not MACK! I have to say that this turn of events left me on the edge of my seat with an audible “Oh no!” Hopefully, the effects on him are temporary and his enhanced strength protected him from the fall into the unknown.

Easter Eggs

  • Temple of Randac (see below)

Predictions

I get the feeling that the whole premise of only those of Kree blood being able to enter the temple or touch the artifacts, is in some way mirror to the Terrigen Mists from the comics.  Which leads to another theory as to what the “City” is. A city which houses the Temple of Randac perhaps? This sacred location was named after the first Inhuman to discover the secret properties of the Terrigen Mist. Randac was touted as a messianic figure among the Inhumans. The Temple of Randac is where the rite of Terrigenesis was performed on the Inhumans selected to endure it.

Drama stuff! Okay, so Fitz-Simmons is on the fritz (Bada Bing!) and even Agent Triplett has backed off the flirtatious banter with Simmons. What does this all mean? Hell if I know, but I’d say that my money is on an eventual reunion of Fitz-Simmons after a traumatizing event say, Mack supposedly dying, being on a mission in an alien temple where death lurks around every corner, etc…maybe?

Final Thoughts

Overall, really enjoyed this episode. Again, mostly the reveals were are what impressed and excited me, more so than anything else. That said, the developments as far as the Kree descendants are concerned were the biggest highlight for me.

I give this episode a solid B+.
